Asalam Alaikum. Greetings of Peace.
Welcome to the third annual Webb Kids Aqeedah and Action Workshop. American Muslim children, ages 4-10, will learn from adults, youth and from each other the basics of our faith and how we can integrate it with compassionate action in the model of our prophets and elders. The program will be a combination of classes and service projects held on Sundays between September 11th and May 20th. Classes and service projects will be separated among four age groups: Pre-K(age 4), KG/1st grade (ages 5-6), 2nd/3rd grades (ages 7-8), and 4th/5th grades (ages 9-10).
*The Pre-K (age 4) group will not have a service project. Children registering for Pre-K must be age 4 at time of program commencement.
Classes will fall on the first, third, fourth, and fifth Sundays of the Month. Total number of class days: 23

Spring Semester Class Dates: January 15, January 22, January 29, February 5, February 12*, February 26, March 4, March 18, March 25, April 1, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 6 (classes & conferences), May 20 (end of year program & summer kick-off picnic)
Our Webb's Kids curriculum will utilize components of the IQRA Islamic Studies Program combined with the unique service projects that are the hallmark of Webb Foundation.
- 9:45a.m.– 10:45a.m. Arabic: Students will be grouped into appropriate levels of Arabic classes based on ability and interest. Asma Akhras and Lena Shahbandar will coordinate this program.
- 10:45a.m.-11:40p.m. Webb Kids whole-group welcome, meeting, lunch and break
- 11:45a.m.-1:45p.m. IQRA Islamic Studies Program classes. Aqeedah will be our focus. Students will produce a craft project that integrates the day's learning objectives.
- 1:45p.m.-2:00p.m. Dhuhur and closing remarks.
*Fitness day for girls/women on first Sunday of month and for boys/men on third Sunday of month. 2- 3:30 p.m.

As Webb Kids, to put our faith in to action, we will follow the Prophet's model of serving our community. Service Project Days are always on the 2nd Sundays of the month. Total number of service days: 10
Fall Semester Service Dates: September 11(Commemoration), October 9, November 13 (IMAN Eid Intra-faith), November 27 (Interfaith Thanksgiving Potluck), December 11
Spring Semester Service Dates: January 8, February 19*, March 11, April 8, May 13 (Y-ME Breast Cancer Walk)
*No Service Project for Pre-K
KG/1st Grades Service Project : Following the Prophet's footsteps, students will go with their parents to visit sick and elderly relatives and neighbors near their home.
- Identify a person who needs visitors.
- Bake cookies or buy/pick flowers.
- Visit, take a photograph, and print photograph.
- On a sheet of paper, glue the photograph and write/dictate to parents three to five sentences about what you learned. (This is done at home with parents)
- Bring your paper to class to hang on the wall.
2nd-5th Grades Service Project :
Students will:
- Understand the importance of service to others in our lives
- Develop a habit of service that we will practice throughout our lives,
- Explore a variety of service opportunities
One service project per month done at the Webb location. Each month, we will cover one need for service in our community. The project will be explained, connected to children’s text, the Quran, our prophets, and our community. Students will create a product to donate or will participate in action-based service.
Potential topics: Cancer awareness, cleaning-up parks, Environmental stewardship, supporting those who have lost loved ones.
All parents are required to be a full-day volunteer, and be a service project chaperone at least once during the program year. Sign-up at the registration site. Volunteers are required to be present for the full class day and will assist teachers as needed, gather supplies for planned crafts, and help tidy up rooms.
