Quranic Arabic Younger Group—Ms. Sameena

We reviewed the first 3 verses of Surah Al Nas, with introduction of the new vocabulary word—ilahi.  The goal of these lessons is for the kids to internalize their meaning.

Please review the following words:

  • A’oothu (seek protection—this is the magic word that causes shaytan to shatter into a million pieces.  This is spiritual and physical protection)
  • rabb (nurturer, caretaker),
  • nas (mankind/people)
  •  malik (king, owner, He issues orders),
  • Ilahi (Lord, object of our love, adoration so we worship Him) 

 

Quranic Arabic Older Group—Ms. Heba

Memorize surah Al Duha (all).

Arabic A—Ms. Yusra

Arabic:

  • Study the animal names on page 11 in your textbook. There are a total of 12, so divide them up over the two weeks. Choose one animal to remember each day. (Use the worksheets to help you.)
  • Complete Animal Worksheet 1
  • Complete Animal Worksheet 2
  • Complete Animal Worksheet 3
  • Complete Animal Worksheet 4
  • Complete any of the classwork that you did not finish in class

***We will play another scavenger hunt game with the animal names so come prepared!***

Note for the parents:

Last Sunday, February 5th, the kids started learning reading and writing. A big milestone! We started practicing reading words from 2-3 letters. Kids started writing their fist name in Arabic and will continue practicing till the end of this semester. In addition, we continued learning Alphabets; letters Sad “ص" and "ض" Dad and number 3 in Arabic.

 

Pages 13, 29, 39 in the activity book are today’s homework.

 

Page instructions:

Page 13: color the triangles that has the same words

Page 29: draw a circle around the correct number then color the pictures

Page 39: color the correct number

We are sending with your child a card with his/her name to color their names.

WEEK 1

Assalamu alaikum Webb families,

We are very excited for the first full-fledged year of Arabic with our Webb Kids.

Wespent the first day sorting the kids into their appropriate groups, and with God's blessing we hope to inspire your children with a beneficial year in Arabic.  This email is to inform you of what we will need from you to best support your child.  Attached is the class roster.  We ask that you find your child's name under his/her respective class and come ready for our next class day on September 25, dropping your child off at his or her respective classroom.  The specific room information will be posted at attendance check-in each week.  

Please know that we will be ordering textbooks for the classes– see your child's class supply list below for any supplies that each child should bring in the Webb bag as well as textbook payment information.   For all children in Qur’anic Arabic, we will be using the same Qur'an book as last year (Juz Amma for School Students– green book.)  If you already have the book, let us know by September 25 at the latest.  Please submit your checks on Sunday at check-in.  All checks should be payable to Webb Foundation.
